Matt! Matt was our first CSA member ever, and has been a Workshare ever since. He’s running the Milwaukee Marathon this weekend!

Woohoo! Green things are back! Peppers are waning! It’s a gorgeous share and the final four will be just as sexy. Some of the broccoli got a tad bit overgrown. Sam and myself took a little weekend away; Sam to record an album with Horseshoes and Hand Grenades in Viroqua, Wisconsin, and I took advantage of the free ride there and took myself on a solo camping, paddling, and biking adventure. Needless to say, we weren’t here to harvest the broccoli on the exact day it needed to be harvested, but it tastes amazing and its huge so enjoy!

It’s a special day over here at Village Farmstead. Tonight, we’re celebrating our hardworking crew and having the wobrkshares over for a potluck dinner and fire. Tuesday crew harvests every week with us, making sure that the produce for 120 families gets harvested in under 4 hours. Thursday crew has a new, unknown adventure awaiting them everyday; from pruning and trellising tomatoes, digging thistle, clearing beds, planting salad mix, spraying fermented fish juice on the crops (team favorite… not), and even mulching the new trees we planted last week.

If you’re a Oak Creek member, we’ll be around tonight having a fire and eating, so feel free to stop over and say hi and give a huge thank you to our awesome team who shows up every week!
